The Kelvingrove Art Gallery is regarded as the best museum in both Glasgow and Scotland. It recently underwent a multi million pound refurbishment program and was reopened in 2006 by the Queen.
The museum is one of the most popular free attractions in Scotland and the most visited UK based museum (outside of London). There are over 8000 exhibits on display and there are a range of Exhibitions which take place throughout the year (check their website for the latest ones).
The museum has three floors and has displays for Italian Art, Ancient Egypt and Glasgow and Scottish based art and culture. The lower floor also has a restaurant and shop. |
